Content Moderation Policy

1. Introduction
This Content Moderation Policy ("Policy") explains how MediaOrb (Pty) Ltd t/a LinkDeck ("we", "us") reviews, moderates, and enforces content standards on the LinkDeck platform ("Platform").
We are committed to maintaining a safe, professional, and lawful environment for all users and their audiences.
2. Content Standards
All content published on the Platform must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy and the following standards:
- Content must be lawful under South African law.
- Content must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Content must not contain hate speech, harassment, or threats of violence.
- Content must not be misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive.
- Content must not promote illegal activities or regulated substances without proper authorisation.
- Content must not contain malware, phishing links, or other security threats.
3. How We Moderate Content
3.1 Automated Monitoring
We may use automated tools to detect content that violates our policies, including:
- Malware and phishing link detection.
- Spam and abuse pattern detection.
- Content classification and flagging.
3.2 User Reports
Users and visitors can report content that they believe violates our policies by contacting us at abuse@linkdeck.co.za.
3.3 Manual Review
Flagged content is reviewed by our team. We assess reported content against our policies and take appropriate action.
4. Enforcement Actions
Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may take the following actions:
4.1 Warning
For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning and request that the content be removed or modified.
4.2 Content Removal
We may remove or disable access to content that violates our policies. We will typically notify the account holder, unless doing so would compromise an investigation or violate legal requirements.
4.3 Account Suspension
For serious or repeated violations, we may temporarily suspend the account. During suspension:
- The user's pages are not publicly accessible.
- The user cannot publish new content.
- The user can still access their account to appeal or export data.
4.4 Account Termination
For severe violations (illegal content, fraud, security threats) or persistent repeat offences, we may permanently terminate the account. Terminated users are not eligible for refunds.
4.5 Legal Reporting
Where content involves illegal activity, we will report it to the appropriate law enforcement authorities, including the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Film and Publication Board (FPB) where applicable.
5. Appeals Process
If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may appeal by emailing appeals@linkdeck.co.za. Your appeal should include:
- Your account details.
- A description of the content or action in question.
- Your reasons for believing the action was incorrect.
We will review appeals within 10 business days and notify you of the outcome.
6. Transparency
We aim to be transparent about our moderation practices. We may publish periodic transparency reports summarising:
- Number of reports received.
- Types of violations identified.
- Actions taken.
- Appeals processed.
7. User Responsibilities
As a user, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring all content you publish complies with our policies and applicable laws.
- Responding to moderation notices in a timely manner.
- Reporting content that you believe violates our policies.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform.
